How do I sell my DVDs to Bookstores.com?
Selling your DVDs to Bookstores.com is easy! Follow our simple instructions on
how to sell your items.
How do I find my DVDs and add them to the basket?
Please search by the UPC or EAN located on the back of your case. Alternatively,
you can search by the title of the movie.
Many titles have multiple releases available. Make sure to select the correct version
of your DVD to receive the correct quote.
How do I determine the condition of my DVD?
We buy DVDs in both new and used condition.
- Brand new DVDs that have not been played and are still in plastic
wrap.
- Used DVDs may have been played once, twice, or several times. Used
DVDs must be sent with the original case in order for the price quote to valid.
If you are sending the disk only, please check the box “No case” when selling your
DVD. The product may have minor scratches but plays perfectly. We do not buy heavily
scratched / damaged DVDs or those that do not work. These items will be discarded
and not returned to you.
Why was my payment less than quoted?
Prices are based on the condition and UPC / EAN of the product received in our warehouse.
If the condition or UPC does not match the product as it was entered, your quote
will be adjusted to the proper payment for the item received. Please give accurate
information about your DVD and pack your shipment carefully. Please review our packaging
guidelines to ensure the safe arrival of your DVD(s).
What happens if you do not buy my DVD?
If you send an item that we cannot purchase, it will be recycled. Remember, we do
not buy any DVDs that have severe scratches / damage or do not work.
How does shipping work?
Bookstores.com will provide you with a prepaid shipping label that you can print
out from your computer. Delivery Confirmation is included with the label, so you
can verify that your package successfully arrived at our location. The cost of this
label is billed to us, so you never have to worry about it. Need more labels? No
problem, just visit Your Account and click on
the buyback in question. Then click "Add a shipping label." You can request as many
free labels as you need.
Shipping Methods
- FedEx (Pre-paid label): This is the default carrier for buyback shipments. FedEx
guarantees delivery in 1-5 business days. Drop off packages with FedEx labels at
the nearest FedEx drop off location or arrange for a free pickup from a business
by calling 1-800-GO-FEDEX. When dropping off your package, please select a FedEx
Staffed, FedEx Kinkos, or FedEx Authorized ShipCenter. Uncheck the box next to FedEx
Self-Service locations since they are unable to accept your package. Pickups must
be scheduled from a business, not a residence. If you call to schedule a pickup,
make sure to mention you have a "return label." Each FedEx package is insured.
- USPS Ground (Pre-paid label): From the day you send your package to us, USPS Ground
usually takes between 3-14 business days to arrive. Drop off packages with USPS
labels at your local post office. USPS Ground packages are not insured.
Please note that these times are estimates and we are not liable for delays that
are out of our control.
What if I cannot view or print my shipping label?
Please be sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer.
If you do not have this software you can obtain a
free copy from Adobe.
What is the advantage of using FedEx over USPS Ground?
FedEx guarantees delivery in 1-5 business days. Each order shipped via FedEx is
automatically insured. USPS Ground usually takes 4-14 business days to arrive.
We strongly suggest you purchase insurance when shipping your buyback to us via
USPS Ground, however optional insurance for USPS Ground packages is not an expense
Bookstores.com covers. If you ship your buyback order to us using USPS Ground,
Bookstores.com is not responsible for packages lost in transit.
How long does the entire process take?
After your buyback is received, it usually takes 1-3 business days to check-in your
DVDs and 5-10 business days to issue payment via check and 1 business day to issue payment via PayPal or Store Credit. During peak buyback periods, processing
may take longer. Peak periods are usually late December through January and late
May through June.
Why was I issued a USPS Ground label instead of a FedEx label?
FedEx does not operate on holidays or weekends. Therefore, buybacks submitted during
those periods may receive a USPS Ground shipping label instead of a FedEx shipping
label. Please note that both the FedEx and USPS Ground labels are pre-paid, so the
shipping charges are billed to Bookstores.com.
