Overview
The Committee states its intention to monitor the situation in Zimbabwe closely, and that it may hear further evidence or produce a substantive report with recommendations in due course. In the meantime, the minutes of evidence given to the Committee during December 2001 by the Foreign Secretary and the Minister of State, Baroness Amos, are printed in this report, as well as other written memoranda and correspondence. This is in order that the evidence may be made available before the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Australia from 2 to 5 March 2002, followed closely by the presidential elections in Zimbabwe.
