Wood encourages children to investigate woodland spaces whatever the weather--from tree trunks and falling leaves to nuts and seeds. Children are introduced to woodland creatures and the nests and burrows they call their homes. They are also encouraged to think about the importance of planting trees to replace the wood that we use.
