Overview
The Voyages of Samuel De Champlain V2 is a historical book that chronicles the travels and adventures of Samuel de Champlain, a French explorer, navigator, and cartographer. The book is a compilation of Champlain's journals and notes from his numerous voyages to North America during the early 17th century. Champlain's travels took him from the St. Lawrence River to the Great Lakes and down to the Atlantic coast. He also explored the areas that are now known as Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New England. The book provides a detailed account of Champlain's interactions with the indigenous people he encountered during his journeys, including the Algonquin, Huron, and Iroquois tribes. It also includes descriptions of the flora and fauna of the regions he explored, as well as the geography and topography of the land. The Voyages of Samuel De Champlain V2 is a valuable historical document that provides insight into the early exploration and colonization of North America. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of the continent and the role played by European explorers in shaping its development. In the first place, there are at its entrance several islands distant ten or twelve leagues from the main land, which are in latitude 44 deg., and 18 deg. 40' of the deflection of the magnetic needle. The Isle des Monts Deserts forms one of the extremities of the mouth, on the east; the other is low land, called by the savages Bedabedec, [95] to the west of the former, the two being distant from each other nine or ten leagues. Almost midway between these, out in the ocean, there is another island very high and conspicuous, which on this account I have named Isle Haute. [96] All around there is a vast number of varying extent and breadth, but the largest is that of the Monts Deserts. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
