Overview

Poetry. The very old story, truthfully, poignantly told. These poems manage a remarkably reflective accuracy while keeping their own authority, and one is moved to become compassionate witness. Simply put, Bill Morgan has a lot of heart (Robert Creeley). The whole time, wherever you looked, / you saw an oak and a stick; and I saw / two fond, frail humans who might / get lucky, then learn to deserve it. / We both were wrong (Of Mourning and Onward Motion). The work is carefully, painstakingly executed and there seems to be no word, no phrase in excess. Each piece seems an integral part of the whole and moves steadily to the tragic conclusion. There is a lot of pain here, something we can relate to (Carolyn Page).
