Senior FBI agent Dov Bar-Lev, and his sidekick, Santa Fe PI Thomas Kuzmic, solve the mystery surrounding the theft of an alien spacecraft, the kidnapping of two children, and the murder of the kidnapped children's father. On the way, with the help of rugged mountaineer "Old Vic" and his pet grizzlies, they encounter hidden tribes of Anasazi Indians and battle the evil Keenan Darstow, Deputy Director of the FBI who, with terrorists for hire, seeks to capture the spacecraft and use it for his own wicked purposes.
