Georg Ebers (1837-1898) was a German Egyptologist and historical novelist best known for popularizing ancient Egypt through his literary works. He studied law and then Egyptology, becoming a professor and conducting research on ancient Egyptian culture and language. Ebers is renowned for discovering the Ebers Papyrus, one of the oldest and most important medical documents in existence. His novels, including Uarda and An Egyptian Princess, blended historical fact with engaging fiction, making ancient history accessible to a broad audience.
