Overview

This story is about a Product Development Specialist named Omar Duncan, who finds himself pre-occupied with painful memories of his past through vivid daydreams that keep him alienated from his peers, and detached from reality when they occur. His story traces experiences from adolescence to adulthood, as he recalls in vivid detail the ones that were most impactful and painful. The emotional toll leads him down a self-destructive path that allows him to ignore the positive impact from his own talents, in favor of his indifference. During the course of his downward spiral his conscious, who refers to itself as 'The Orphan', has become detached from his consciousness, and is forced to communicate with him through mirrors as its portal. The Orphan begins to guide him through a series of situations in an effort to allow Omar to face his demons, and acknowledge the necessity of reuniting with it to become as one again. The endearing character of his friends, and one particular family member who he blames for decades of animosity, prove to be invaluable as he learns lessons about humility, forgiveness, relationships, and being honest with himself and others close to him. He also learns there are consequences for his actions; good or bad, and unfortunately, the 'bad blood' he has created doesn't come without a price; a price that involves the threat of him possibly losing his life at the hands of a most unlikely adversary..
