It was Odysseus' clever stratagem of a giant hollow wooden horse, filled with soldiers, that had enabled the Greek army to gain entrance into Troy and to lay waste to the once great city. The victorious Greek army is now able to return to their respective homes. But the journey home will not be so simple for Odysseus, the King of Ithaca. At first Odysseus ship is blown off course by storms, and later cursed by Poseidon, the god of the sea, to wander the Mediterranean for ten years. During his years lost at sea, Odysseus's wife, Penelope the Queen of Ithaca, has been beset upon by suitors seeking to replace her assumed dead husband. Their son Telemachus sets off from Ithaca in search of his father, and to speed his journey home. Will Odysseus be able to overcome the wrath of the gods, and save his wife from the unwanted advances of unruly suitors?
