The Preaching Of Me. Knapp.--Mr. Knapp, as many of our readers know, is an American Evangelist, and one of the most successful ministers upon that Continent. Multitudes flock where ever he goes, and his ministry is remarkably blest to them. He numbers his converts by thousands. Such a fact naturally awakens the greatest curiosity, and many would like to know how such an individual proclaims the gospel of the grace of God. From an individual who has heard him again and again, we present our readers with the following description of his mode of action. He is a plain man, and by no means distinguished by extravagant measures. There is one means adopted by Mr. K. which our friend has not stated. We are informed, by another correspondent, that he invariably makes all his converts promise to pray for him, and to their effectual fervent supplication is, perhaps, owing a great portion of his success. More than 1000 are said to have professed religion in Boston, since Mr. Knapp came to it.
