Overview
Having been convicted, sentenced and jailed for the murder of Bruce Glover, the incarceration of family members, Paul and Andrew, presents a slight problem to their plans for the development of Paul's old family mansion, The Grovel, on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour. Fortunately for the duo, Sydney's inadequate jail facility forces the jail superintendent, Thomas Musgrave, to adopt novel procedures not quite in keeping with accepted custodial measures allowing the two jailbirds to continue with their fortune seeking scheme.Unknown to both Paul and Andrew, however, are a number of other people interested in The Grovel including illicit casino operators, public servants and politicians. With the future of The Grovel in the balance, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Webster and Detective Sergeant Noel Elliott are faced with an increasing murder count as contenders vie for the property and the fortune ownership will bring.
