One mans journey to find peace and contentment in his life ended up leaving him even more discouraged and empty. After looking in all the wrong places for so long, he finally surrendered to a power that would take him on a path that he never could have dreamed or imagined. After years of searching for real purpose, I realized something needed to change in my life. I just didnt know where to begin. At the age of thirty, I was led to pick up the greatest book ever written. After months of reading this book, I discovered that I wasnt as good of a person as I thought I was. I started to see that my heart needed to be changed. After six years of searching this book, I finally had that heart change. I havent looked back except to remind myself of all the changes, blessings, and miracles that have occurred since. A changed heart is the ultimate miracle. I dont have the accolade of having a six, four, or even a two year college degree. I have one year of college in biblical counseling and ministry. But more importantly I do have thirty years of studying Gods word, as well as thirty years of various ministries within the church, such as evangelizing, teaching, and counseling. Thanks to James Lowans (Director of New Hope), I had the privilege of counseling at-risk young men, ages thirteen to seventeen for nearly ten years at a Teen Challenge facility named New Hope Academy.
