Kenneth Grahame was born in 1859 in England. His books of fiction and fantasy was written for children but this type of children's books were also enjoyed by adults as well. He is most noted for writing The Wind and the Willows in 1908 and The Reluctant Dragon. The Golden Age is a collection of reminiscences of childhood. Grahame uses the culture of ancient Greece to illustrate his stories. The children see the adults in their lives as Olympians. Grahame protrays the children as locked in continual warfare with the adults around them who have forgotten how it feels to be young.
