They were also dying. Overpopulation and unbridled use of resources were pushing a noble and martial society to a fall that threatened to end their civilization, even their very existence. In an act of faith long distance space probes were sent out.

One of the probes found another species. It gave the Empire a way to save itself. In order to forge their future they would have to resurrect their past and revive old ways and traditions.

However, this new species had allies. Many of which would rather fight to the bitter and bloody end.
