Richard Mariner, aboard HMS Erebus delivering New Year supplies to NASA's Antarctic bases, becomes involved in an attempt to rescue a stranded astronaut. But then, as an FBI investigation into the astronaut's death traps them at the base, other deaths occur and suspicious events become explosive.
