Phenylpropanolamine is an ingredient of many prescriptions and over-the-counter cough and cold products because its vasoconstrictive properteis decongest the stuffy nose. However, a number of reports of untoward clinical events related to the use or misuses of PPA in illegal and legal products has emerged.
