Overview
A class full of kids has a teacher unlike any they've ever had before. He's quirky- lazy, forgetful, and cheap, among other things- but he manages to get the job done. In the end, he leads an enterprising campaign to save the arts programs, which were threatened by budget cuts. His secret motivation: he relies on the arts to take the kids out of class for much of the day, so he can go watch tv supply closet, aka his "secret closet of doom". He does the right thing for not quite the right reason, but nobody complains- at least the beloved arts programs can continue. Even the principal- his longtime nemesis- warms to him in the end.
