Behind the tattoos and the rap persona is Stephen Manderson, a gentle man who has overcome adversity to succeed against all the odds. Growing up in Hackney, Stephen acknowledges that his grandmother and nan where the strongest influences in his life, that he no longer speaks to his mother Patricia, and his relationship with his father Peter was very turbulent. Just after Stephen's 18th birthday his father committed suicide. The emotions surrounding his family are often reflected in his music.
