Mike Abernathy is a mathematician that has developed a new form of space craft propulsion, hoping to drive a new era of space exploration. After the first test in space, things go horribly wrong. His project and the future of humankind is threatened. Now he finds himself forced to travel beyond the moon, farther than any human has traveled before in an attempt to fix the problem he caused. His sacrifice to try and save humanity sends him on a one-way trip into the deep emptiness of space with the woman he loves, but the universe may still hold a few surprises for him.
