Jonathan Taylor Weiss was a determined youngster from the age of four, when he decided that someday he would like to be on television. When his family left their home in Pennsylvania to put down roots in California, opportunities opened up for young Jonathan. Remarkably mature for his age and dedicated to achieving his goal, he began as a child model and soon moved on to voice-over television commercials. At the age of nine, he was tapped for the long-running role of Randy in the sitcom Home Improvement, and he was on his way to stardom. From there it was just another step to the big screen, where he debuted as the voice of the lion cub Simba in The Lion King. His popularity now secure, Jonathan (who had changed his last name to Thomas years earlier) landed major roles in other feature films, including Man of the House, Tom and Huck, The Adventures of Pinocchio, and Wild America. Hardworking and dedicated, Jonathan is an outgoing, giving, and modest young man who was taught from childhood to share his good fortune with others. When he is not working or studying, he gives freely of his time and energy to the many charities he supports, especially those for children.
