The Confluence American Authors Series publishes criticism, interviews, manuscript selections, bibliographies, letters and other materials concerning important contemporary and modern American writers. In James Welsh, the first volume of the series, nine noted authors and critics, including Jack L Davis, Robert Gish, A.LaVonee Ruoff, Kenneth Lincoln, and Kathleen Sands, examin themes, symbols, and influences of James Welch's first three books, Riding the Earthboy 40 (poetry), Winter in the Blood (fiction), and The Death of Jim Loney ( fiction).
