Curled into a tiny, prickly ball, a hedgehog hides in her grassy day nest at the base of a hedgerow in southwestern England. Only six months old, Hedgehog has not yet learned to be cautious. She is narrowly missed by a passing tractor and kicked by a heavy-footed draft horse. At the end of her long adventurous day, our frazzled Hedgehog heads back to the safe and cozy hedgerow for a peaceful sleep.
