Beryl played with Allan, Jerry accepting his fate with philosophy and attaining revenge by winning the event with a partner who, if less to his taste than Beryl, played a far better game of golf. The ball in the evening was a big success in spite of the efiorts of the weather to put a damper on it. A drizzle set in just in time to dim the brilliancy of the fire works display, but by cooling the air made dancing more popular.
