Overview
Peter McLaren began to write a series of short articles and editorials that largely focused on evangelical Christianity and the Trump administration. These articles were meant to be his contributions as a "public intellectual" and were designed to be accessible to a wider audience, even while appearing in academic journals. What was unique about these journals (Educational Philosophy and Theory and Post-Digital Science and Education) was that they were experimenting with the format of open access journals and the "turn around" timing of publications. After my initial submission, each of my articles appeared in print approximately three weeks later. They would have appeared even earlier had I not been in the habit of adding inserts during the proof stage. In a conversation with Shirley Steinberg it was decided that a short volume containing his recent rants against the evangelicals for Trump could provide a useful public service if not a platform for catharsis during these troubling times, as the US slouches towards the plague cart and fascism.
