First Light is the first anthology of the Writers' Guild of Central Louisiana, a non-profit organization of amateur and professional writers who function to promote writing and reading in Central Louisiana as well as all areas within reach of the written or spoken word. It is a compilation of short stories and poetry from a variety of perspectives, a culmination of talents that captures emotions of joy, wistful reminiscence, and painful loss.

It is our hope that the reading public enjoys this, the first light from our pooled abilities, and joins us in our efforts.
