Joni Mabe is the ultimate Elvis fan. For 17 years she has amassed an enormous collection of Elvis memorabilia ranging from the curious to the bizarre: Elvis badges, bedspreads, posters, votive candles, clothes, slippers, lamps, furniture, records, locks of his hair and even his wart, which was surgically removed in 1958. Alongside this pop-art kitsch, Mabe has created brightly coloured, textured collages, using images of the King from his early hip-swiveling days to later visions of him, bloated and sequined.
