Overview

Eros
is the God of love's explanation of the nature of love through a variety of characters including Ann Miller, Henry Phillips and Betsy Worthington. It describes how certain character types and different personalities experience love, why they love the way they do and why some achieve love and others do not. The six character types described include philosopher Soren Kierkegaard's unauthentic and authentic people and Martin Heidegger's anonymous one. The book explains why each experiences one of the five levels of love, or infatuation, desire, love, true love and genuine love, and the myriad of obstacles they face including circumstances, politics, feminism and sex. For many love never runs smoothly due to their class, liberal caused civil strife, feminist elimination of gender and unrealistic sexual expectations. Specifically, love does not flourish in societies with rigid class castes; liberal politics that promote the relativistic assassin's creed and socialism; feminist philosophy that weakens the male/female bond, marriage and families; or are preoccupied with sex and its occasional morally decadent consequences. Indeed, this book describes how love fails more often that it succeeds through jealousy, envy, lust, disloyalty, infidelity, circumstances and character.
