Overview
While students can only truly learn field techniques from actually participating in a dig, this CD does the next best thing: It shows archaeologists involved in various excavations (many of which are referenced in the Thomas/Kelly text), illustrates field techniques, reinforces concepts via live examples, and encourages students to participate in a dig themselves. Organized by the various stages of a live excavation, students can progress through each illustrated step automatically or navigate to a specific point on their own. At the end of each step, students are directed to Check Points, which test their understanding with concept questions and allow them to self-check their answers, receive a score, and email that score to their instructors.
