Overview

In 1996 the contemporary-art collector Janet de Botton donated to the Tate Gallery 60 works from her collection, and this book reproduces and documents each of them. The gift includes paintings, sculptures and photographs by 30 artists, and covers three decades, from 1962 to 1991. They range from pieces such as Carl Andre's Steel Zinc Plain (1969) and one of Andy Warhol's final self-portraits (1986) to a group of Untitled Film Stills (1978-80) by Cindy Sherman and Incubus (1991), an early painting by the British artist Gary Hume.
