Overview

BALANCING ACT is published by the Vestibular Disorders Association, a non-profit organization that exists to provide information to people with vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, & other symptoms of inner ear disorders. People affected by these disorders, which are not well understood by the public, must become their own advocates. Accordingly, BALANCING ACT provides ordinary people with information about the inner ear & how to get help for, to cope with, & to teach others about vestibular disorders. Chapter titles are: "What Causes Dizziness?," "How Can I Find Out What's Wrong with Me?," "What Are Some Vestibular Disorders?," "What Can Doctors Do for Me?," "Manage Acute Attacks," "Minimize Stress," "Watch What You Eat," "Keep Moving," "Get Organized," "Live It Up," & "Spread the Word." BALANCING ACT has been well-received by health professionals as well as the public & is used by clinics in Boston, Chicago, Anchorage, Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Ann Arbor, & elsewhere across North America.
