I can't believe that it's finally today. I, Alex Winters, amactually sitting in a Cessna 185, next to the pilot, flying over the Amazon jungle. Those were the first sentences I wrote in my journal on the first day of the mostamazing adventure of my life. The last thing I wrote that day was: Right now it's gettingreally bumpy. The plane is shaking. Mike said to put down the book and tighten myseatbelt. But you can hardly read the last part, because our plane was about to crash, and Iwasn't worrying about my handwriting. Luckily my camera wasn't smashed, so I could take pictures of everything I saw afterthe crash. I was found by the "Fierce People," the Yanomami, who took me to their village.At first I was really scared, but they ended up being the coolest people I've ever met. I got tohunt for alligator, fish for piranha, and play in the middle of the night while monkeys howledand jaguars growled. But nothing could've prepared me for what happened next. Anyway, this is my journal- or "How I spent my Christmas vacation."
