Chemical calculations account for 25% of available examination maks in Advanced Higher Chemistry (as offered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority) and the first part of this book explains background theory as well as worked examples and problems (with answers provided), to give valuable practice in this area of the examination.

The second part of the book deals with the twelve Prescribed Practical Activities (PPAs) in the syllabus. Each piece of experimental work is described briefly and clearly, but with all key aspects of theory and technique fully explained. Study questions (including calculations with numerical answers proided) are included to help students understand this work, both in execution and in revison for the examination.
