Private investigator Lincoln Perry finds himself in the crosshairs of police investigations in two states when an old rival, Alex Jefferson, is brutally murdered. Accepting involvement in the case after a request from his former fiancée, Perry agrees to locate the dead man's estranged son and inform him of his large inheritance.
