Harumi Taniguchi ’s first volume of poetry,The Hawk and the Blossom, inspired a radio broadcast of original compositions based on seven poems. This debut led to a recorded album, which has been distributed internationally and led to membership in the Big Band Hall of Fame. Ms. Taniguchi is also a professional painter; her most recent work is a large oil painting titledLily of the Nile.She makes her home in Los Angeles.
